Come together and support the Ukrainian Aid Appeal
23 March 2022 by Justin Rush
A little effort can go a long way, and we all need to make an effort right now to support the Ukrainian people. Every night on the news, we see harrowing pictures of how everyday people’s lives have been affected. You can and should help, any help is signficant.
For this group, it all started with a short social media. This post lead to conversations, ideas and favours. Ultimately, a group of unrelated people gathered enough aid and finances to ensure three 40ft trailers of aid make a 1,700 mile journey to a distribution centre in Romanian.
The second trailer of aid left for the Ukraine this morning (Tuesday 23rd March). It contains food, medical supplies, toiletries and sanitary items, warm clothing and other essentials.
No one in this picture is doing this for recognition, they are doing it because it is the right thing to do. You are a bunch of truly caring and considerate people, you have also shown what can be done with that all-important ‘little bit of effort’.

(Pictured are the volunteers who pulled a late-night shift, after their normal workday, to pack a trailer at the DSV logistics hub at Belfast docks. It was very nice to meet the Romanian Consulate representative (the only one in a suit) and even nicer that he brought coffee and donuts for the group!)
