The Role

Working with one of Northern Ireland’s leading utility providers, the successful candidate will have the responsibility of overseeing the end-to-end Accounts Payable process. Offering high levels of service is key to this organisation’s success through every function of their business. You will be required to proactively promote and ensure best practice in purchase order, payment and vendor management.

You should have a proven ability in communicating with various stakeholders as it will be necessary to maintain relationships with vendors and ensure that payments are made in an accurate and timely manner, with any issues identified and dealt with at the earliest possible stage. In this busy environment, it is essential that you are well organised and can manage your workload to meet strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Order (PO) management – creation, amendments etc
  • Vendor management – creation, amendments, exceptions etc
  • GR/IR management (Goods receipt / Invoice receipt) – providing regular reconciliations and
  • actioning any exceptions
  • Management of internal & external queries relating to POs, payments and vendors
  • Aged Creditor reconciliation and actioning of any exceptions
  • Payment practices reporting
  • Ad hoc payments processing
  • Maintaining excellent levels of customer service
  • Other duties to assist with the smooth running of the department

Do you have?

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a relevant role in a fast-paced commercial finance
  • environment
  • 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or Level 4 or above including Maths and English
  • Experience of working with Accounts Packages
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience dealing with 3rd party contracts and managing relations
  • Accounting Technician qualification or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience of using SAP and/or SRM (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the utilities industry (desirable)
