Accounts Payable Clerk

New Accounts Payable opportunity with one of Northern Ireland’s most widely recognised family run retailers. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be a key member of this finance team, having full ownership of processing and maintaining the Purchase Ledger.

This company is well-established and growing rapidly. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated with excellent attention to detail and 2 years’ experience in a similar fast-paced finance environment. There is an attractive remuneration package on offer for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities of the Role:

• Processing GRNI, POs, invoices, statements & full maintenance of the Purchase ledger
• Allocation of funds to Purchase Ledger accounts
• Reconciling monthly statements and processing the payment run
• Nominal account reconciliations
• Cash handling & processing lodgements
• Management of petty cash
• Liaise with internal teams where necessary
• Ensuring queries are followed up and resolved successfully
• Carrying out ad hoc projects and any other reasonable duties as required

You will need to have:

• Similar experience in a busy accounts related role
• Minimum of 5 GCSE’s incl. English and Maths (Grade A*-C), or equivalent
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven ability to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision
• Ability to prioritise and manage workload to ensure deadlines are met
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work
• Experience in Microsoft Office and accounting software
• Experience within the motor trade an advantage but not essential
