Cloud Engineer (Azure)

Cloud Engineer needed to join a national utilities organisation, who are a leader in renewable technology. Innovation is critical to this organisation, who have invested wisely and now sit comfortably in Irelands top 50 businesses.

The successful candidate will be an experienced IT professional with a strong foundation in the implementation and delivery of software solutions, infrastructure (IaaS) and platforms (PaaS) within the Microsoft Azure Cloud Landscape.

Key responsibilities:

• Liaising with internal customers to define functional and non-functional software designs/specifications for new or existing software solutions and infrastructure within the Cloud
• Engaging with internal customers/third parties to ensure the software solutions and infrastructure continuously meets business requirements
• Build out Azure infrastructure designs using Azure automation and transition
• Design and implementation of support service of new or existing software solutions and infrastructure within the Cloud

Essential Criteria:

• A third level qualification in a Computing related discipline
• Solid understanding of Cloud technologies including fundamental characteristics of cloud and cloud-native design fundamentals
• A strong understanding of security concerns around cloud and a willingness to develop Azure infrastructure solutions which are secure by design
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Azure technology stack and the low-level design cloud native applications supported by Azure IaaS and PaaS infrastructure
• Solid experience in architecting, implementing consumer scale, geo redundant applications and platforms on the Microsoft Azure technology stack
