Commercial Account Handler – Omagh

Abacus Careers are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Accounts Handler on behalf of a local industry leading Insurance Brokerage. Our client has a long serving relationship with the local community are an exciting and dynamic business with office with the view for growth this year. What you will do:

  • Respond to enquiries from clients, colleagues and underwriters and ensure all information required by clients or underwriters are obtained and communicated.
  • Identify client’s requirements and provide quotations to fulfil their needs.
  • Using this information, determine which insurers will provide the most competitive rates for the cover required and communicate this to clients advising of the most appropriate in terms of price and cover.
  • Discuss “additional” covers to ensure all insurance requirements are satisfied.
  • Create, update and maintain client files with the highest level of accuracy as you will be responsible for making mid-term adjustments to policies such as change of address, vehicle or personal details – with help from senior colleagues.
  • You will maximize growth by developing an existing book of clients as well as generating new business with prospective clients

Essentially you will provide technical support to an Account Executive, servicing existing clients whilst developing new business opportunities. You will work towards revenue targets and have excellent client liaising skills to fulfil objectives.

About You:

Previous experience in an insurance environment will be desirable. 5 GCSE’s A-C Grades including maths/English/

You will have an understanding of working towards targets and working in an environment that requires competency in managing workloads especially when under pressure. You will be self-motivated with the passion and enthusiasm to learn and develop and be competent in IT. It is also essential that you have good interpersonal skills to ensure a quality customer service. It would be desirable if:

  • You have at least 3 years’ experience in the insurance industry, particularly in commercial
  • Experience of working with the Open Gi software platform
  • Insurance Qualification such as Certificate In Insurance or Diploma in Insurance
