The Job

The Belfast office is a successful and growing one thanks to a large and varied client base ranging from multinational listed businesses to start ups, owner managed to private equity / entrepreneurial venture backed, covering various sectors. It is also the delivery hub for many of the managed services they deliver for UK and global clients meaning they can offer you the opportunity to gain experience of service delivery for a wide variety of clients and enhance your skills working with national and international businesses.

The managed services team are looking for a Contracts and Commercial Manager to join the Belfast Office, reporting to the Supplier Management Lead. The Contracts and Commercial Manager will manage and be responsible for supplier qualification, onboarding and compliance activities, as well as for procurement and proposals activities with suppliers. They will be part of the Supplier Management Team comprising the three functional areas below:

  1. Contracts and Risk – administration of the supplier qualification and onboarding process and the management of contractual compliance thereafter
  2. Procurement and Proposals – running of the procurement process with the supplier community, from sharing requirements through to receipt and evaluation of proposals
  3. Supplier and Community Management – establishing and managing the relationship with suppliers focusing on supplier performance

You will also have the opportunity to shape and continuously improve the approach to supplier qualification, onboarding and compliance management as well as how they procure, receive and evaluate proposals from suppliers in the community.

  • Own the supplier qualification, supplier onboarding and procurement and proposals processes
  • Oversee and support the supplier qualification and assurance processes
  • Drive the contracting discussions with suppliers, resolving and escalating issues as necessary
  • Oversee and support ongoing monitoring of supplier risk management and compliance with contractual terms and company policy
  • Define and implement supplier risk management approach
  • Support Account Managers with procurement and proposals interaction with suppliers, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and procurement regulations
  • Manage relationships with legal, quality and risk management, independence and IT assurance teams to agree the approach to compliance and risk matters
  • Manage analysts in the team

The Person

We are looking for supplier and commercial management individuals who have significant commercial and contracts experience who excel at client and supplier relationships. For this role, team leadership and management experience and strong contract negotiation experience are also a key requirement.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Procurement experience and process knowledge
  • Significant commercial and contracts experience
  • Risk management experience
  • Experience of managing and coaching others
  • Strong contract negotiation skills

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • The ability to integrate with new teams quickly and build effective relationships at all levels
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to high quality delivery
  • Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and consult appropriately within the firm
  • Strong project management skills and ability to deliver financial metrics
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically
