With 50 offices across USA, Canada, Mexico, Berlin & London, they have now recently set up shop in “sunny” Belfast and are keen to hire the wonderful talent our wee country has to offer. They are seeking a Data Analyst to join remotely and work within their Knowledge Management Team. 

This is an opportunity to help shape future operational and strategic analysis within their data team.  

Operating within employment and litigation law, Ogletree Deakins work with some of the largest brands out there such as companies within Fortune 500 and FTSE. You will be part of a relatively new team so you will get to help build the Belfast Data Analytics team from the ground up. What will you be doing?

• In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing analytical support for our employment litigation group, including creating analytic and data visualization solutions for both internal and client-facing purposes.
• You will have the chance to work on a variety of employment-specific project types, including wage & hour, pay equity, AAP, DEI, reduction-in-force, and employment discrimination.
• You will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of tools, including R, Python, Excel, and other software tools, to manipulate, clean, analyze, and refine data.
• In this role, you’ll also have the opportunity to create dashboards and other data visualizations to help drive insights and tell the story of your analysis.
• You’ll have the chance to collaborate with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders to create data-driven solutions to improve workflows and processes, and to identify opportunities to leverage internal and external data sources to create value for clients or the firm.

What do you need?

• 1-3 years data analytics position
• Experience with MS Excel, general Office365, Python and R
• Self-starter capable of working remotely
  • A willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision – you will be one of the originals in the Belfast Data team so working independently and resolve technical issues on your own will be necessary  

Desirable:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar 
• Experience with linear regression and statistical modelling
• Experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets
• Experience in a billable position preferred (please note this is a billable role)
