Facilities Operative

Abacus is hiring for a global client. They are keen to hire a Facilities Operative (who will report to the Facilities Manager). This is an excellent position for someone to be responsible for supporting all departments across multiple sites.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Facilities Inspections, reporting Improvement Opportunities, Reactive and planned maintenance
Production Buggie Inspections and Repairs
Installation of signage, railings, Airline installation works / repairs
Checking operation of / Carrying out repairs on Local Exhaust Ventilation systems
Painting Programme (production area floors, doors, walls etc.)
Joinery works
Upkeep of maintenance spare parts
Report daily on any materials used and work carried out during the shift
Weed Control
Event Setup / Support, Moves/Adds / Changes
Supporting the Team in the efforts to reduce energy consumption.
Minor Racking Repairs
First Response support to building systems including water leaks, Fuel/oil system distribution faults etc.

Qualifications / Experience

Qualification in a trade such as joinery or maintenance discipline desirable
Minimum of 2 years previous maintenance experience gained within a similar high-volume manufacturing environment.
Clean driving licence

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Self-motivated and high energy with ability to work on own initiative
Ability to work within a team
Ability to work overtime at short notice
Ability to work in an environment that is fluid with constantly changing priorities
Customer focused
