Abacus Talent Group are delighted to be working with our client, a privately-owned commercial business in South Dublin who supply services to global leaders in their industry.

This role would be well suited to an experienced Financial Administrator/Bookkeeper seeking a secure role with a reputable organisation.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Assistant will support the finance team with key bookkeeping and administration activities associated with ensuring accurate and timely reporting. As a worldwide service provider, our client trades internationally, which requires a high degree of diligence in ensuring key financial activities such as Accounts Receivable and Account Payable transactions are carried out.

Quality of work is fundamental to their reputation. As such, key objectives of the role include an attention to detail from raising of invoices to payment of invoices and reconciliation activities.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Record all purchases /sales invoices in a timely manner
  • Create Purchase orders and match them with invoices
  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Issue invoices to customers
  • Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
  • Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
  • Recharges of expense incurred on behalf of customers
  • Prepare such reports and other information or tasks as requested and directed by the financial controller.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Prepare VAT/ VIES/INTRSTAT and other returns in a timely manner
  • Purchase supplies and equipment as authorised by management
  • Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary
  • Support management of consignment programmes with inventory & logistics control

Essential Criteria:

  • A sound knowledge of computer systems – experience in Sage
  • Be highly organised and have the ability to handle a wide variety of tasks in a highly pressurised environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Be an effective communicator
  • The ability to negotiate with suppliers
  • Be numerically competent including experience in excel

Desirable Criteria:

  • IATI Qualified or ACCA/ACA/CIMA Part-Qualified
