09 March, 2023Are you an experienced Accounting Technician or Finance Assistant interested in working with a Treasury Finance team?
As a Finance Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Treasury team in managing the financial operations of a large multination group. You’ll be responsible for processing fund transfers, reconciling statements, maintaining records, and supporting the team in managing working capital requirements and cash flow forecasting.
We’re looking for a candidate with a strong background in finance and a degree or qualification in a relevant area is highly desirable. You’ll have demonstrable experience in either accounts receivable or accounts payable, cash management, and reconciling bank or supplier statements. You’ll also have experience accounting systems (for example SAP or SAGE) and be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
In addition to the essential criteria, we’re looking for a candidate who is a proven team player, someone who consistently strives to deliver excellent work with strong attention to detail.
Finance Assistant Duties:
- Reviewing and processing payment proposals for supplier payments
- Processing fund transfers
- Maintaining collateral positions, ensuring recorded and tracked appropriately.
- Updating cash books and reconciling accounts
- Managing working capital requirements and cash flow forecasting
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with banks
- Preparing and checking confirmations for account deposits and foreign exchange deals
- Other duties as required.

Application Criteria:
- Experience in a treasury, AR, AP or similar finance role
- Experience completing bank or supplier statement reconciliations, resolving discrepancies.
- Experience of double entry / general postings
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Accounting/Finance qualification e.g., IATI qualification or equivalent – desirable
- Knowledge of the electricity supply market – desirable
