We are pleased to be working with an award-winning local professional services firm to assist in hiring an experienced Finance Assistant to join their in-house accounts team. What’s involved in this role?

As a Finance Assistant you will be an integral member of the Accounts team, reporting to the Finance Director. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining current and accurate bank account records
  • Co-authorising & processing electronic payments
  • Liaising with colleagues and banking staff to record receipt of transactional funds
  • Reconciling bank accounts daily
  • Inputting purchase ledger invoices
  • Recording disbursements to clients’ ledgers
  • Reconciling supplier’s ledger accounts to statements
  • Preparing supplier payments
  • Maintaining accurate client transaction information
  • Preparation of Nominal analysis
  • Posting client bills (incl. non-UK billing)
  • Assisting with billing queries with stakeholders from support to senior levels
  • Assisting colleagues with client/supplier queries
  • Providing cover & support for other members of the team as required

What’s on offer?

  • Starting salary circa. £20K-25K, depending on level of experience.
  • Working hours Monday – Friday, with a hybrid model of working.
  • Permanent role, offering the opportunity to work with senior members of the Accounts teams in a dynamic, highly successful and progressive firm.

Who are we looking for?

  • 2-3 years working in a busy transactional role requiring a high degree of accuracy.
  • Recent Bookkeeping, Sales or Purchase Ledger experience within a busy finance team is essential.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook & Teams.
  • Experience working with computerised accounting software.
  • Experience with a Regulated or Professional Services firm is desirable.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal & organisational skills.
  • Confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience in working to strict deadlines.
  • Accounting Technician qualification (any level) is desirable.
