We are currently supporting the Financial Services team as they seek to hire an experienced Consumer Credit and Retail Financial Services lawyer to join their FS Regulatory team.  If successful, you can expect to provide expertise in consumer lending, consumer protection, FCA policy, and regulation of retail financial services

Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities:

• Advising on product design, marketing, regulatory authorizations and permissions, product documentation and disclosures, origination and execution processes, and regulatory requirements relating to accounts in arrears and default.
• Advising on unfair terms and consumer protection law and regulation.
• Providing specialist consumer credit and retail financial services regulatory support to other practice areas.
• Being the primary point of contact for developments in the retail finance sector.
• Leading business development related to the consumer credit practice, managing client relationships, and providing training to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Deep knowledge and experience in consumer lending and retail financial services.
• Familiarity with unfair terms, consumer protection law, and FCA regulations.
• Knowledge of unregulated lending and FinTech is desirable.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
