The Abacus Careers team are delighted to be working with the senior leaders of an outstanding Northern Ireland business to recruit the position of Group Accountant.  This is a high-growth business with turnover now exceeding £200M, it is an exciting time with new clients, product lines and a number of new projects scheduled for the coming 24 months.

On offer is the chance to work and learn from a highly experience Financial Controller that takes great pride in building a cohesive and supportive team (Currently 10), someone who invests in people and processes, and ensures that a positive workplace culture blossoms.  To be clear, this is a position that will give the successful candidate a clear pathway to Financial Controller within a two year period.

This role holds all the challenges an Accountant at the early stages of post-qualification will desire from a highly commercial position.  The appointed person will have responsibility for:

–          Management reporting to a strict deadline, ensuring supporting schedules and associated reports and analysis is completed.

–          People, delivering coaching and support to ensure learning and development commitments are met.

–          Systems, improving financial reporting by utilising new tools and technology like AI, analytics and dashboards.

–          Projects, like the use of automation to drive business process improvements.

Reward on offer is significant and above the average market rate.  Basic salary to £55k + benefits.

We are seeking applications from candidates that are:

–          Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification

–          Experienced working in a commercial environment for at least 2 years producing management accounts for a medium-sized commercial entity

–          Highly systems literate, advanced Excel knowledge is essential

–          Positive, motivated and enjoy challenges and problem solving.
