What you’ll do

  • Roll out, support and maintain user devices including PCs, laptops, mobiles and tablets.
  • Create and maintain user accounts as appropriate in the relevant security context and ensure Security Access Maps are maintained.
  • Install and maintain full range of hardware including PCs, printers, handhelds, scanners, routers, switches and wireless technologies as directed by Head of ICT.
  • Install, upgrade and support full range of software utilised as directed by Head of ICT.
  • Liaise with relevant software companies to ensure operational activities are maintained and monitor and assist with all third party Helpdesk call lists.
  • Liaise with Helpdesk to ensure all annual hardware maintenance is carried out correctly, principally on printer hardware.
  • Make recommendations on upgrade and/or replacement of all IT equipment and ensure Equipment Replacement Programme is adhered to.
  • Ensure that clean down procedures are carried out on all client PCs as required and assist with redeployment or disposal as appropriate.

What you need

  • A relevant HNC qualification e.g. computing/Microsoft /other system certification or equivalent
  • least 1 years relevant experience supporting and troubleshooting IT systems, server/pc hardware, operating systems, back office applications and network technologies
  • OR 3 years relevant experience as outlined above
  • Minimum of 1 year working in a customer focused role
  • A current full driving licence and access to a suitable form of transport (*where an applicant indicates that a disability prohibits them from driving, this criterion will be waived at the shortlisting stage.)

Desirable

  • MCP/MCSA/MCSD Certification
  • Experience in website content management software
  • Knowledge of security standards (BS7799 and ISO1779)
