29 September, 2023The Infrastructure Cloud Engineer plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the seamless integration, upkeep, and optimization of our cloud-based infrastructure within the Azure ecosystem. Collaborating closely with our clients internal teams and valued partners, the Infrastructure Cloud Engineer ensures that our Azure environment is finely tuned for its intended purpose, maintains peak performance, remains fortified through robust backup strategies, guarantees high availability, and operates in a cost-efficient manner.
The role operates within a technically intricate environment, encompassing both Azure and on-premises data center infrastructure. Thus, the ideal candidate will not only serve as a guardian of our Azure resources but will also extend their expertise to on-premises infrastructure tasks.
In this multifaceted role, a unique blend of business acumen and technical proficiency is essential. The Infrastructure Cloud Engineer holds a pivotal role in shaping our architectural direction and driving strategic decisions to steer our organization toward continued success.
This position represents a remarkable opportunity to actively participate in the transformative overhaul and expansion of my clients infrastructure as they embark on their journey to migrate to the cloud.
Desirable Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- Relevant technical certifications
- VMware vSphere, Hyper V and VDI
- Scripting/automation (e.g. VB Script / Powershell)
- Networking experience in Palo Alto, Meraki a plus
Essential Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- Degree in IT
- Many years’ experience hands-on technical support of Azure
- Responsible for data integrity, backup/restore, capacity planning, and disaster recovery procedure on assigned platform(s).
- Troubleshoot technology issues using various internal and external resources.
- Ensure that assets are responsibly maintained, inventoried and/or disposed of properly.
- Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects.
- Create and adhere to policies and procedures for change and incident management.
- Handle ongoing maintenance e.g., service pack installations, hot fixes, software upgrades, etc.
- Good working knowledge of servers, Virtualization, Office 365, Cloud concepts, network and enterprise storage technologies.
- Administer and maintain at least one complex operating system (Microsoft OS or Linux) environment in compliance with all standards.
- Has working knowledge of and may provide system support for at least two technical platforms (VMWare, HyperV, NetAPP, Active directory etc.).
