Our client is a leading global law firm operating in over thirty countries, they focus on tackling challenging deals, delivering exceptional legal solutions to foster clients’ growth and innovation.

The IT Contract Management Specialist role involves validating the firm’s contracts for compliance with established standards, prioritising both financial and risk management, and ensuring clear communication of key points and obligations to service owners. This specialist’s primary responsibility is managing IT contracts and third-party suppliers, collaborating with internal teams like Procurement, Supplier Management, In-House Legal, Information Security, Service Owners, and Senior Stakeholders. They serve as a contracts expert and work closely with the Software Asset Manager to effectively maintain and validate the contracts repository, tracking essential data points.

Experience

  • 2/3 years IT Experience and IT contract management experience.
  • Professional services sector experience.
  • Experience working in either a SAM, Procurement or Legal role.

  • Role and Responsibilities
  • Act as a key contributor to the SAM strategy and governance processes to make process efficiencies whilst ensuring the level of risk / exposure is minimised, with respect to our contractual obligations.
  • Be a key liaison point between IT and key third-party software suppliers with the ability to hold complex discussions with vendors and key stakeholders.
  • Assist Procurement with the negotiation and review of new contracts and contract renewals as required.

  • Maintain a contract repository to ensure data is updated and expiration dates are accurate.
  • Complete financial checks of contracts including invoices, margins, and internal/external queries.
  • Assist with executing our Vendor Audit Program.
  • Assist key stakeholders in IT with SLA reviews, credit calculations & tracking credits.
  • Assist key stakeholders in IT with budget management practices.
  • Chase suppliers for quotes, working with SAM/Procurement to obtain best pricing.
  • Ensure Supplier risks are noted centrally and progressed through closure & duly logged in the Risk Register Key Requirements Business Competencies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both orally and written.
  • Comprehensive understanding of contract structures and changes to the regulation for example, ABC and GDPR.
  • Experience of working in a global environment across international locations with an appreciation of multiple cultures.
  • Ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute short, medium and long-term initiatives to improve performance of processes for which the position is accountable.

Qualifications Ideally you should have the following or equivalent:

  • Degree qualified – preferred.
  • Minimum “A” level standard education.
  • Certification in contract management – desirable
