IT Field Engineer

One of Ireland’s largest IT service providers is looking for a field engineer to join their joining team. This is the perfect opportunity to grow and develop your skills as you will be working across a number of different hardware and software issues. With travel North and South of Ireland dealing with onsite technical issues, this won’t be a boring desk job.

What you’ll do

• Providing day-to-day support to a large customer base, both in person and via telephone
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
• Installation, configuration, and setup of new hardware/software
• Knowledge of virtualisation technologies – VMware/Hyper-V
• Microsoft Windows Server technologies/Active Directory/Group Policy
• Microsoft Office 365 experience – migrations
• Sharepoint/Teams/OneDrive experience
• Backups
• Anti-Virus
• Firewalls/WANS/LANS/VPN
• Remote access experience
• Data centre work – replacing faulty hard drives, motherboards, PSU’s etc.

What you need?

• Previous experience working in a similar role – 2/3 years’ experience
• Excellent communication, organisation & interpersonal skills
• Good customer service skills/speaking on the telephone
• Ability to work in a team but also work on their own initiative
• Must hold a full clean UK driving license
• Access to own car and willing to travel in the North and South of Ireland
• Microsoft/Cisco certification or equivalent/willing to undertake
