Abacus is delighted to be working with one of the largest, most connected Law Firms in the World on the recruitment of a Junior Associate to join the Advance Delivery team in Belfast to support the delivery of major elements of litigation cases and transactions as well as coordinating teams of Lawyers Worldwide.

You will have gained a significant level of legal experience through working as a Junior Associate, being able to work independently, lead a team and be the first point of contact for supporting Associates and Senior Associates. Self-motivation, being organised and having the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines are demonstrable personal qualities that are required to perform this role at the required level.

What you need to succeed:

  • At least 4 years’ experience gained within a Litigation environment (or similar)
  • Admitted to the roll as a Solicitor, Barrister or be a Fellow of CILEx
  • Proven ability to take ownership of your own work
  • Strong relationship building skills – a team player with the ability to establish credibility and inspire confidence with Clients and senior colleagues
  • Must show evidence of a high level of personal resilience coupled with an ambition to continuously challenge yourself
  • Demonstrate a high level of affinity with legal technology

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Specialist and significant general legal knowledge
  • Excellent report writing / drafting with a keen eye for detail
  • Lead projects / teams
  • Monitor the work of more junior members of the team, ensuring quality meets the desired standard
  • Train junior team members
  • Carry out business development and present directly to Clients
  • Build and own long-term relationships with Clients
  • Continue to build your own expertise and the profile of the LSC through spending periods on both internal and external secondment to Clients
