Junior Systems Administrator

Junior Systems Administrator needed to join a well-established Cloud Computing house based here in the City Centre. Despite its massive success globally, it’s Belfast office still has that “start-up” feel and intends to stay that way.

Overview:

This is a junior position ideal for someone looking to get into an IT Support role. The candidate should feel comfortable being able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly and be able to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams (to users who will be both technical and nontechnical). Resourcefulness and patience are necessary skills in this role.

Skills required:

• Degree in Maths, Computer Science or similar.
• Knowledge of network routing, load balancers (both cloud and selfhosted). 
• Experience of single sign on technologies and best practices
• Understanding and familiarity with advanced network topology and hardware (load balancers, server hardware, TCP/IP, DNS and other Internet related technologies: DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Firewalls, IPS/IDS).
• The ability to support a diverse desktop technology (Windows and Mac) 
• Server support (particularly Windows but Linux exposure also advantageous).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
