The Operations Manager will support the future growth of the company through providing logistical support and effective facility management.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day aspects of the operations team to ensure that effectiveness and efficiency are maximised.

Provide facility management for the group sites, to include third party contracts, such as security, cleaning, ground maintenance, etc. To ensure that all statutory elements of health and safety are implied and undertaking responsibility for equipment and maintaining the premises in a safe and healthy condition and to a high standard

Manage all associated customs warehouse transactions within HMRC timescales, whilst maintaining efficient administrative systems. Ensure internal procedures are in place to comply with HMRC regulations and provide communication of same.

Provide advice to directors concerning operational requirements to support future growth and expansion.

Planning, scheduling, and reviewing workload / resource to ensure output / delivery targets are achieved cost effectively to support the needs of the business.

As part of the management team, you will also be jointly responsible for contributing towards the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational targets and overall business aims.

Review the IT systems and procedures relevant to the operations team and co-ordinate with the IT team concerning improvements or issues.

Review and update operational management processes and systems to ensure that

the c ustomer’s expectations are met and exceeded. Develop procedure / system manuals to facilitate efficient operations, in conjunction with the HR Manager.

Develop the appropriate systems and processes to measure and manage staff performance and to coach and develop a high-performance workforce. Set Key performance indicators for teams / individuals.

Address any staff discipline or staff grievance issue, maintaining appropriate records in accordance with company procedures.

Develop the skills and capabilities of the operations team through providing training in relevant processes, internal systems, and quality requirements.

Organise, plan and co-ordinate all inventory management activities, including annual company stock takes. Manage the computerised cycle count stock check process and procedure.

Build effective relationships and negotiate with the company’s logistics partners, dealing with any renegotiations or transport issues. Make recommendations where necessary, have contingency plans in place.

Manage the cost-effective use of resources for the operations function, including energy, facilities, etc. Compile statistical figures on energy use, packaging materials.

Member of the key holder team, this involves assisting with opening, closing and site security for the company premises.

Maintain compliance with Health and Safety in accordance with best practise and legal requirements.

Any other duties, within reason and capability as determined by the Board of Directors.
