What experience do you need?

  • 3 or more years’ experience in end-to-end payroll
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience in using payroll softwares 
  • Proven ability to manage own workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Excellent attention to detail and good understanding of payroll compliance
  • A qualification in Payroll is desirable (E.G. CIPP)
  • Experience in a client facing role is desirable e.g., payroll bureau or practice environment

What are the responsibilities of the role?

  • Import and ensure accuracy of payroll data each period, for processing in line with deadlines
  • End-to-end payroll processing including necessary complex calculations and reviews
  • Processing of starters and leavers, including reconciliations review and calculation of pro-rata pay-runs
  • Processing statutory payments and pensions administration
  • Ensure correct Tax treatment of pay components
  • Issuing payslips, P45’s, P60’s
  • Report generation for clients and management
  • Efficient onboarding of new clients
  • Liaising with HMRC
  • Assist with escalation of any issues to ensure they are resolved effectively
  • Assist with year-end processes
  • Support junior members of the team with additional training and guidance
  • Ensure compliance across all payrolls and keep up to date with relevant payroll legislations
