The Company:

Our client is an exciting new entrant to the market who is looking to grow their operation throughout NI and want to build our their procurement function. As part of an exciting growth plan, this role will be a critical appointment in developing the procurement team and managing the success of the department. With multi million pound investment, our client is in a fast growth trajectory and have ambitious plans to put together a high calibre team.

The Role:

The Procurement Director is responsible for driving and overseeing the procurement strategy, process and activities in the business. This role provides procurement leadership for the development and implementation of procurement frameworks, policies and procedures. This role builds and maintains senior level relationships with key suppliers to ensure procurement efficacy and deliver value to the company and its internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be recognised as an expert and by the suppliers and industry peers, who can define strategic sourcing agenda, procurement policies and materials management. The Procurement Director will build and manage a team to interact with business stakeholders, suppliers and partners.

Responsibilities

· Devise negotiation strategies to achieve optimal outcomes, deliver with the right relationships / best skill sets across teams

· Identify and realise opportunities to improve service level and Total Cost of Ownership, mitigate supply risks

· Implement robust materials forecasting, ordering and inventory management processes and controls to ensure materials arrive as required for network build and customer installations

· Identify business improvements leveraging the commercial, design and process to minimise the Total Cost of Ownership

· Lead teams with a clear vision, and drive enforcement of the strategy and activities, and deliver against key metrics

· Oversee sourcing and purchasing processes and activities to ensure compliance and adherence across teams including inventory management and warehousing.

· Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring continuous alignment to and delivery of business goals.

· Provide procurement leadership to support key transformation programmes; manage, support and develop the capabilities of direct reports

· Drive category spend and performance, develop and deliver category strategy and long term values, in collaboration with stakeholder and suppliers, leveraging best practice procurement strategies, approaches and tactics as appropriate to business requirements.

· Determine the best approach to market, the optimum commercial models and supplier relationships for a product/service or sub-category to create maximum value

· Provide guidance and input to develop and implement policies and frameworks that underpin network deployment, products and service delivery

· Manage senior relationships with key suppliers, negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements, ensure required performance and contractual obligations are met, while incorporating new and innovative improvement initiatives

The Person:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
  • 7-10 years of related experience, with at least 3 years of senior management or Director experience
  • Proven business expertise in a relevant business environment, particularly around supplier capabilities, commercial models, product lifecycles and partner programmes required to deliver portfolio and customer requirements
  • Demonstrates a track record of decision-making capability and delivery against key metrics, in partnership with management stakeholders.
  • Excellent relationship management skills & ability to influence decision making with senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment
  • Experience to manage complex, strategic and commercial requirement with strategic Suppliers, to deliver projects and results on time and in full
  • Experience in business partnering and supplier relationship management with both resource, technology and materials suppliers
  • Demonstrate strong continuous improvement skills that exceeds expectations
