Abacus are currently assisting the recruitment of Data Privacy Analyst to support one of Northern Irelands biggest insurance brokers compliance with UK GDPR. The firm has been operating in the NI market for decades providing high quality, trusted services to their customers.

The role provides a fantastic range of benefits.

• £25,000+ with annual incentive schemes and work from home allowances
• 35-hour working week, Monday-Friday
• Mostly fully remote – only in the office when necessary

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support for the GDPR programme.
  • Maintain and update the Personal Data Register, including article 30 records.
  • Manage the company data breach process in line with procedure: investigate, monitor the data breach up to completion, draft of meeting minutes and notify the Regulator as required.
  • Prepare Data Breach Reports as required by the Data Privacy Team and Hughes local management.
  • Manage Data Subject requests in line with procedure: investigation of request and draft responses.
  • Assist with the preparation of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new initiatives across the business.
  • Assist with the review of data protection content within legal agreements between the company and third-party organisations.
  • Maintain and update the Company Data Protection Policy, Data Protection Procedure and associated Notices.
  • Assist the Company Learning and Development team with the development and roll out of company wide Data Protection training.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification in Business, Insurance, or equivalent.
  • Legal degree is essential.
  • Data Protection oriented is desired.

Knowledge & Experience

      Experience in the area of Data Breaches, Data Subject Requests and Data Privacy Impact Assessments is desired but not essential.

Relevant compliance or business background.

Genuine interest in data protection and privacy.

Good awareness of IT and data security is desired but not essential.

Knowledge of insurance processes and operations is desired but not essential.

Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018.
