The Role:

The Revenue Protection Officer will assist the Billing Department in identifying situations where revenue is potentially at risk and ensure all customers are billed accurately, to minimise revenue leakage.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor consumer usage and conduct analysis to identify and investigate potential Revenue Protection situations
  • Complete debt recovery and credit management activities
  • Process customer refunds, site works requests and sundry invoices
  • Assist Meter Reading Team with long-term meter inaccessibility issues 
  • Work closely with other internal departments to enhance Revenue Protection procedures and policies
  • Assist with system improvements and business changes
  • Ensure timely resolution of claims and disputes
  • Case management of small claims applications
  • Ensure compliance with legal, licence and commercial requirements
  • Ad hoc duties as required

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) including English & Maths
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in dealing with internal and external relationships
  • Excellent IT skills with experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Confident in resolving customer queries
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, with an ability to work independently
  • Use of own car and valid UK Driving License (mileage allowance available)
  • Previous experience working in a regulated utility business (desirable)
