Security Engineer

Abacus are working with a global critical data, technology and research organisation who are looking for a Security Engineer as they build out their Security practice in Northern Ireland.

The Security Engineer will help design and implement secure systems, using techniques such as defence in depth, threat modelling and zero trust across Microsoft Azure cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Have a significant impact on the security systems that are used by thousands worldwide.
• Be a key part of our cyber security team, with a tangible impact on the security of the organisations systems. 
• Help teams to model threats using the STRIDE model, against new designs, ensuring appropriate protections are in place.
• Make a difference by mitigating vulnerabilities across our systems, helping developers to produce secure code and evaluating new next-gen security technologies.
• Respond to security and compliance issues generated via analysis or automated tools
• Work collaboratively cross-team, to impart your expertise across the organisation.

Essential:

• At least 1 year’s experience in securing software or infrastructure in cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure)
• Your experience should include;
• Securing systems in line with ‘Well-Architected Frameworks ’ e.g. Microsoft Well-Architected Framework.
• Securing networks, web applications and cloud-native deployments. 
• Working with toolsets such as vulnerability management, firewalls, SIEM, PAM, IDS/IPS, EDR, DLP, AV platforms. 
• Designing, deploying or managing code security controls such as Static/Dynamic/Real-time application security testing tools.
