Security Engineer

Security engineer needed to join a growing MSP as they expand operations in Northern Ireland. This individual will be passionate about security and has the drive to proactively improve the security posture across the organisation customer base.

The security role is hands on, and the individual will work very closely with the Technical Director, Managed Services team, customers, and wider teams.

This role is offering fully remote work for anyone based in Northern Ireland, with travel sometimes required for client visits.

Responsibilities:

• 24×7 SOC escalation point along with other colleagues
• Work closely with the SOC and improve customer security posture
• Responsible for creating recommended practice documentation for securing M365
• Conduct security reviews across new and existing customers
• Conduct security vulnerability scans on scheduled and ad hoc basis 
• Work to identify opportunities for additional security layers across the customer base
• Reference check security frame works such as CIS and work with Technical Director on a strategic rollout of the framework in the customer base.
• Design and implement security standards across the customer base.
• Work with the ISO 27001 team during certification.
• Work with the Managed Services team and carry out weekly patch reviews across the customer base.
• Identify issues and make recommendations.
• Work with the team to remedy zero-day vulnerabilities and coordinate activities.
• Implement security workarounds and vulnerability fixes.
