Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Due to The Bank of London’s (TBOL) rapid growth and success, Abacus are now exclusively working on bringing a Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS) to join this growing team. Who we are looking for:

We’re on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Cloud Engineer who excels in deciphering requirements, creating designs, and proficiently steering the development and delivery of solutions. As a key player in this role, you’ll be responsible for shaping, building, and overseeing Kubernetes and virtual server infrastructure within the AWS ecosystem. Stay at the forefront of technological advancements, seamlessly adapting to evolving requirements that may prompt the exploration of alternative solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, document, test, and deploy infrastructure based on AWS.
• Implement security policies and monitoring protocols for AWS infrastructure.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) pipelines to facilitate infrastructure and application deployment lifecycles.
• Design, construct, and consistently enhance Kubernetes clusters and associated infrastructure.
• Collaborate with developers and application owners to refine requirements and create innovative solutions.
• Mentor and guide team members to enhance knowledge and skill levels.
• Contribute to firm-wide architecture planning.
• Participate in the development and documentation of standards.

What you bring

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the technology industry, including at least 3 years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering and architecture design.
• Proven expertise in designing and operating infrastructure pipelines using Terraform and GitHub.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently to achieve defined goals.
• Proficient in crafting comprehensive documentation and delivering presentations in easily understandable terms.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with peers, managers, and business leaders.
