The Role:

• As a senior data engineer, you will contribute to the design, delivery, and maintenance of the Trusted Data Platform, taking responsibility for business needs and reducing barriers between data services
• You will play a prominent role in championing and raising core data engineering skills within the Data Engineering Team, with the opportunity to train and mentor junior talent
• You will be an enthusiastic and creative individual with a drive to adopt a truly data driven culture, with a focus on continual improvement and problem solving
• You will help to improve the API approach for key data services, incorporating a DevOps approach.

The Essentials

• A strong understanding of high-performance applications and services, with experience of programming languages such as Python, Scala, .Net and C#.
• Knowledge of SQL and understanding of agile software development, test and delivery practices
• Experience of Data Engineering at scale, including the selection, design and implementation of engineering solutions
• Experience in using Azure Data Factory, Data Lake and Synapse
• The ability to deliver technical presentations to a wide range of audience.

Desirable

• Experience of using DevOps YAML pipelines utilizing BICEP (or ARM), SQL Schema, Synapse Workspace, Powershell and Azure CLI, and the visualisation of data using Power BI, DAX and M. API development and implementation.
