Senior Data Scientist – 18 month FTC

Abacus are once again delighted to be working alongside our valued client, an award-winning, £1Bn turnover entity who are searching for a Senior Data Scientist to join their ranks for an 18 month FTC.

What will you be doing?

• You will be working closely with other departments to identify and priorities opportunities to reduce operation costs, whilst leveraging data in new ways to bring significant value
• You will create structured data analytics, BI and data science programmes based on Agile principles
• You will contribute to discussions on data architecture and engineering issues
• You will be essential in developing and implementing data analytics and data science/ML model building and testing strategies
• You will aim to improve data governance and data literacy across the business

What do you need?

• Third level degree in Maths, Statistics, Economics or Computer Sciences
• 5 years’ experience in Data Analytics, Data Science or ML
• Proficiency in SQL, Power BI and Python
• Experience of statistical modelling techniques

What could help you stand out?

• Experience in Azure Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory
• Strong influencing skills, experience working with senior managers and the ability to communicate technical arguments to a non-technical audience
