Litigation Solicitor

Abacus are delighted to be working with an elite, internationally recognised, forward-thinking Law Firm in the recruitment of a Solicitor for their Belfast office.

You will join the Legal Team, working alongside Managers, Senior Solicitors, Solicitors, Trainees and Legal Analysts, in mitigating risk, resolving challenges as well as advising on the identification, collection and production of documentation, essentially providing an end-to-end expert service across the globe.

What you need to succeed:

• A qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 1 years’ PQE gained in a Commercial Litigation environment OR within Personal Injury to include experience assessing recoverability and quantum in complex personal injury cases.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Conduct Practice area-specific fee-earning work such as document review and due diligence, meeting associated daily chargeable hours targets
• Conduct Claim Management for major corporate entities
• Conduct Case Assessments in respect of claims arising out of Group Litigation Orders and Remediation Schemes
• Undertake Quality Control, providing constructive feedback to reviewers, ensuring consistent and quality output meets company standards
• Work directly with Global Practice groups to deliver high quality support to clients and legal teams as required
• Supervise Trainees or Legal Analysts in relation to individual matters, complex legal matters or as directed by Senior Solicitors, Managers or Senior Managers of the Disputes Practice Group as required
• Maintain knowledge of all relevant law areas
• Ensure compliance with financial disciplines as necessary

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience gained in a Private Practice Law form, within the Commercial Legal field
• Experience managing Direct Reports
