10 October, 2023An award-winning and fast-growing manufacturing company is building on continued success by implementing a major strategic investment plan. Abacus has been appointed to recruit a (Strategic) Project Manager to oversee a major multi-phase multi-million-pound investment.
The requirement:
The initial scope is to provide over-arching PM responsiblity on the refurbishment of existing facilities. This phase also involves the acquisition and installation of major equipment and machinery aong with major automation controls and processes.
An additional phase will involve the relocation of existing machinery and equipment and further automation development.
You will compliment a major set of resources. If appointed, the general PM duties will require you to:
Effectively communicate and integrate a range of internal and external customers including engineering and consultancy support teams including in-house maintenance teams.
You will also liaise daily wit company management and ensure the strategic project is delivered on schedule and on budget.
Development of M&E and to a lesser extent, civil engineering services specifications.
Management and delivery of new manufacturing focused machinery, plant and equipment installations
Refurbishment of existing facilities, machinery and plant.
Management of all aspects of Health and Safety, contractors and onsite management (CDM 2015)
Co-ordination of onsite works whilst maintaining live production environments and the associated temporary works required to deliver your projects.
Providing budgetary, financial control and financial reporting.
This is suited to the following background:
Degree or HNC/D qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Production or Construction discipline is ideal
Experience in installation or commissioning production / manufacturing facilities
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in ensuring construction Health & Safety (NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH)
Knowledge of construction and/or manufacturing plant & equipment installations.
Experience of managing contractors in full compliance with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
