Role:
The successful candidate will support the Back-Office Compliance Manager in managing compliance activity across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the business by ensuring that retail activities and trading is carried out in an efficient, controlled, and risk-free manner and that all relevant policy and procedures are complied with. The individual will get to learn and understand new market arrangements associated with I-SEM to support the operational and commercial decisions associated with participating in the market. The successful candidate should be a highly motivated individual who enjoys working within a fast-paced team environment and has the capacity to manage a varied workload.
Your duties include:
- Support Back Office Compliance functions
- Chair the Retail Risk Committee
- Co-ordinate the (Retail) Compliance function
- Maintain and update the compliance and monitoring programme for the (Retail) business
- Assist in the review and update of policies and procedures for relevant offices
- Identify potential areas of risk exposure and recommend corrective action
- Ensure adequate breach reporting is in place throughout the (Retail) Business
- Report updates of Compliance activity to the Risk Management Committee
- Ensuring FO (Retail) trades are transacted and recorded in line with policy
- Monitor trader limits
- Assist with the monitoring of customer credit
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a suite of risk reports
- Confirm front office deals including gas, carbon, and power – ensuring that trades are transacted and recorded in line with policy
- Ensure compliance with European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) and Regulation on Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT)
- Ensure trades are reported accurately and within defined timelines to the relevant trade repositories
- Report on KPIs
- Ensure risk mitigation techniques are in place and reviewed regularly
Requirements:
- Previous experience of working within a trading / settlement environment
- Previous experience of updating or working with policies and procedures
- Excellent numeric and analytic skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner
- Proficient in the use of Excel
- Strong problem-solving skills with emphasis on attention to detail.
