Our client is looking for a Transport and Operations Manager!

As Transport and Operations manager, your main role will be ensuring that loyal customers receive their products in an efficient, professional and timely manner. This is an ideal role for someone who has possibly worked within a smaller business as a warehouse and transport manager who wants to progress to the next step.

Your day-to-day

Ensure and lead a seamless operation.

Engage your teams to deliver continuous improvement processes to achieve KPI performance.

Day to day risk management and compliance, working within legislation, policy and process in all operational areas ranging from people management to health and safety and environment.

Identify operational efficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives, implementing solutions effectively.

Responsible for day-to-day people management for direct reports and their teams, as well as driving development and succession planning.

Responsible for the maintenance of a fleet of 20 lorries.

What you need to succeed

Transport Manager CPC license as this will allow you to hold the operator’s license for our business.

Previous experience as a driver (multi drop)

Positive approach in leading your teams through effective communication and buy in.

Proven experience in end-to-end processes of warehouse and transport operations.

Strong leadership to engage and inspire others to deliver successful results in a fast-paced environment.

Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and processes (Health and safety, working time directive, tachograph management and vehicle maintenance.)

Focus on what adds value in the day-to-day processes.

Pro-active can-do approach who loves to be hands on fixing problems or preventing problems from happening.

Experience in lean working practices and continuous improvement.
