New Year – Same Ol’ competitive team!
20 February 2023 by Justin Rush
In January, our team took on the ultimate challenge: “Most KMs a Day.” We were determined to prove that we had what it takes to conquer this challenge and push ourselves to our limits.
For the entire month, our team members were encouraged to do more physical activity than ever before. We took our daily routines to the next level, whether it meant walking an extra mile, cycling further than usual, or hitting the gym every other day.
The competition was fierce. Each team member wanted to do more than the next person. Some went the extra mile by signing up to a Marathon…The competition was supported by Cancer health checks, nutrition talk, yoga and ‘Walk & Talk’ sessions. This allowed us to take a moment to prioritise our physical and mental health.

Like any good competition – the prizes were very motivating for the team.
Our weekly winners and prizes!
Week 1 – Andrew Harrison, FitBit Charge 5
Week 2 – Jude Harkin, £100 Edo Voucher
Week 3 – Marc Norton, Champagne afternoon tea at the Observatory
Week 4 – Ross Winning, £100 Spa Voucher
As the end of the month approached, the competition reached Olympic levels…
Over-all runner ups
Emma- 234km
Marc- 363km
And our Winner – Jude Harkin completing an outstanding 395km!
Jude won a well deserved 1 night B&B stay at the Grand Central with cocktails in the Observatory!
As we look back on our “Most KMs a Day” challenge, we can’t help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. We have proven to ourselves and each other that we can achieve anything we set our minds to. A big thank you to Emma Coulter for organising this fun month and who knows, maybe we’ll take on an even bigger challenge next year – Mount Everest anyone?
