Plans that make a splash!

The thought of a company strategy and planning session may cause a cold sweat in some employees.  Spending 4 hours in a room with your Company Directors and Line Manager, may not motivate everyone, but at Abacus we quite enjoy our group sessions!  Bringing the whole team together to listen, comment and share are truly invaluable for the ‘Newbies’ and the ‘Old Hands’.  Appreciating who we are, where we are, and how we are traveling to our destination is central to what we stand for.

On this occasion, we were led by Damian Farrell and Stuart John, veterans of our business both highly knowledgeable and well respected.  Our agenda was split into two parts, part one: to review the year to date; highlight trends and achievements; work in groups to confirm short-term objectives for the remainder of 2022; and very importantly, have an open discussion on external market forces affecting our industry, work and personal lives.

After our break from lunch (an outstanding spread courtesy of West), we turned our attention to ‘Brainstorming for business excellence’.  Stuart John expertly led the discussion, he worked with the group to identify the best (and not so good!) ideas that can help enhance our business.  It is fair to say that we ended the session with six really important actions, items we all needed to take responsibility to address.

After all this heavy, concentrated thinking, it was time to unwind.  And what better way to do that? Why slip on your wetsuit and head to Ireland’s largest inflatable fun park, Go Hydro.
