Assistant Accountant position based in Lurgan Co. Armagh with a top client who continue to grow their success

Responsibilities

• Provide explanation of monthly movement in payroll control accounts.
• Provide both Internal & External audit support specific to payroll.
• Processing payroll
• Prepare reconciliation of all payroll control accounts.
• Prepare and upload payroll related accrual journals for posting to the Oracle/Sage accounting systems on a monthly basis.
• Prepare and upload payroll nominal journals for posting to the Oracle/Sage accounting system on a monthly basis, with support for all journal entries made.
• From time to time, you will be required to undertake other responsibilities/activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities.
• Ensuring accurate financial results are reported on a timely basis as per corporate closing calendar. 
• Customer service: provide timely responses to internal and external inquiries.
• Compliance with SOX, standardized procedures and internal controls.

Qualifications/Experience

• Ideally but not essential; Part Qualified Accountant or Qualified Accounting Technician.
• Experience in journal and reconciliation preparation is essential.
• Experience using financial systems. Oracle/Sage experience would be an advantage.
• Experience in payroll processing would be advantageous but not essential.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
