PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

You will assist and support the Legal & Governance Team in managing the delivery of legal advice in relation to Capital Projects and associated workstreams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following reflects typical duties and is not intended to be a comprehensive description of all tasks.

  • Proactively assist the Legal Team in the delivery of legal advice predominantly in connection with programme of Capital Projects.
  • Monitor and report upon legal spend (to budget) and the time attributed to each member of the internal Legal Team highlighting any discrepancies and assisting the Legal Team to resolve same.
  • Schedule and co-ordinate meetings and appointments, consultation and any other diary requirement of the Legal Team to enhance the efficiency of the Legal Team by ensuring appropriate prioritisation of work.
  • Create and compile Legal & Governance and associated working group documentation including agendas and minute-taking.
  • Working closely with in-house solicitors in effective and timely preparation of documentation and documentation management.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Records Management and related policies. Implementing and maintaining procedures/records management systems.
  • Liaise with marketing department to progress templates and communication pieces for the provision of legal advice and updates.  
  • Managing Legal & Governance electronic databases and filing systems, along with coordinating governance of and access to sensitive and/or confidential data.
  • Liaison with internal teams, external suppliers and other stakeholders to collate relevant information and to address legal queries.
  • Co-ordinate, collate and manage requests for information and prepare written responses to enquiries.
  • Any other related duties as required from time to time by the Legal Team.
  • Ensure appropriate consideration is given to the organisations equality duties as well as specific commitments associated with your job role.

CORE CAPABILITIES

Qualifications : Minimum of HND/HNC qualification or equivalent OR a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience working within a law firm OR legal environment undertaking legal or financial support to a team

Relevant Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 years’ experience in successfully administrating projects or legal instructions.

Technical Job Skills: Microsoft 365 & analytical/research skills.

Market Awareness: Ability to delicately manage commercially and culturally sensitive information

Customer Focus: Ability to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders with discretion.

Organisational Ability: Ability to work within a team environment + Demonstrates attention to detail + Possess a good understanding of information-based legislation.

Leadership/Management: Awareness of the monitoring and control of allocated resources, associated revenue costs and all capital costs against a project budget.
