Our client is a large UK firm who specialise in providing advice and solutions to their clients within the insurance sector. They partner with leading insurers, MGAs, brokers, corporates and the public sector to ensure they are able to apply the best processes, technology and market knowledge to deliver.  The role is to manage and progress claims in accordance with appropriate strategies to secure desired outcomes for clients at appropriate levels of profitability. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain key and new client relationships, including attendance at appropriate client meetings
  • Assist in increasing the profile of the firm in the marketplace (which may include the production of marketing information including articles/blogs, delivering training/seminars etc)
  • Handling own mixed caseload within agreed performance metrics (chargeable hours and billing)
  • Assist development of key strategies to combat opponent behaviours.
  • Undertaking periodic reviews of files in line with Client requirements and Lexcel standards
  • Updating reports
  • Instructing Counsel / Experts where appropriate
  • Meeting agreed performance targets
  • Ensuring files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelines
  • Provide written updates by email or letter to clients detailing case activity to ensure that they receive up to date and accurate information about progress when requested

The job is a full time, permanent role (35 hours per week) and typically  Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. They do offer flexibility around this.

Although this can be flexible, the set criteria for the job is:

  • Previous experience in litigated defendant insurance work
  • An ability to prioritise workload & strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with case management systems
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent forensic skills
  • Effective negotiator
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently, keeping to strategy but flexible enough to adapt to change
  • Ability to engage with a team/individuals & create a positive working environment

  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Ability to identify pragmatic solutions to challenges
