Senior IT Engineer needed to join an innovative tech company based in Belfast. The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of the computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines.

A typical day will consist of managing the internal IT Support as well as working across large projects, due to company growth and office relocation. The successful candidate will be an excellent problem solver and communicator across all teams.

Key Responsibilities:

–          Manage information technology and computer systems.

–          Plan, organise, control, and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.

–          Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures.

–          Monitor daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.

–          Own the IT internal helpdesk and related KPIs to provide user desktop assistance and support for company ERP and business systems.

–          Maintain, support, and develop the company network, PCs, and hardware infrastructure.

–          Contribute to and support the disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

–          Test, troubleshoot and modify information systems so that they operate effectively.

–          Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.

–          Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.

–          Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.

Essential Criteria:

–          2:1 (or higher) BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

–          Proven working experience as a Senior IT Engineer/IT Manager.

–          Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.

–          Practical experience with computer networks, network administration.

–          Experience working with ITSM Frameworks.

–          Extensive experience with computer networks, administration, and installation.

–          Proficient in computer hardware, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface.

–          Knowledge of Information Security best practices.

–          Largely proficient with various Microsoft platforms (Windows 10, Server, Office, and Office 365).

–          Should be familiar with: Networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, VLAN’s, Routers, Switches, etc.), Windows Servers (2012 – 2019), Active Directory, Python, Matlab, and Git
