07 June, 2023Abacus are delighted to be working exclusively on an IT Manager role, for a distribution business based in Northern Ireland.
As the IT Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the IT systems and infrastructure enabling the company to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, including servers, network equipment, and workstations.
- Ensure the availability, security, and performance of our systems, implementing necessary upgrades and improvements as required.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for IT support requests from employees, addressing and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities to optimise and streamline business processes through effective use of IT systems.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and implement system integrations and enhancements.
- Oversee data management activities, including data base administration, data backups, data integrity checks.
- Implement and enforce security protocols and best practices to protect sensitive company and customer data.
- Conduct periodic security audits and assessments to identify and address vulnerabilities.
- Lead and manage IT projects, from planning and resource allocation to implementation and evaluation.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an IT manager in a similar IT leadership role within a distribution or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure including networks, servers, storage, and cloud technologies.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Experience with ERP systems, warehouse management systems and inventory management software.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
- Knowledge of data management and security best practices.
